Coalition For Families
In Lee County
The Coalition for Families is a not-for-profit organization whose efforts are centered to empower and encourage individuals and families to reach their potential by improving and enriching their quality of life. Their three main services are:
- Teen Pregnancy Prevention
- Family Support
- Early Childhood Education
With Lee County being a small mostly rural Piedmont county, it reflects all the traditional problems of family and child services provision. While many health, education, employment and family problems are typical of rural communities, Lee County citizens became concerned when noticing that several areas showed problems of considerable magnitude. These efforts began in 1991 and still continue in present day. The Coalition was created out of a genuine concern that Lee County’s most vulnerable residents were not receiving the broad base of care and services needed to assist them in improving their own lives and reaching their full capacity to be productive citizens.
